Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
